The Landover Baptist Church.
This parody website is completely outrageous. Most anyone with a sense of humor and self-humility, religious or not, should be able to see that this site is bogus. At first glance, the articles would drop your jaw, but so would some of the skits on Saturday Night Live… that is, until you realized it is being rerun on Comedy Central.
I really don’t spend much time reading the articles. The pot of gold for me is in READER MAIL.
Is half the world really blind to parody? I feel sad that most of the people sending this mail are without a sense of humor in their lives. Perhaps they are so bombarded with guilt, that their sense of humor fled their holy bodies long before their teenage years.
Some of the common traits in these letters that I find amusing are:
1. “I am a Christian.” What is the purpose of this statement? In any context?
2. Explanations of why they are using “G-d” instead of “God.”
3. The extremely, poor, run-on, sentences, commas are NOT periods, take a breath, open your grammar book, and try to express yourself, in an intelligible manner,
4. ”... I am not going to stoop to your level….” Judgement by humans.
5. People claiming that they are going to forward the website to all their friends so they can see how bad it is. (Suckers!!!)
6. People thinking they are so slick and secretive. Take this letter, for example:
Your site is not of Jesus Christ, Calling people out of their names and saying the things you say are from the pit of Hell. The Lord rebuke you, You are an insult in calling yourselves Christians. I pray all of you get saved, repent of your ungodly ways before you die in your state. Acts 2:38. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. The BLOOD OF JESUS is against you devils.I hope you don’t have to remember these words in hell. Acts 2:38. Be ye Holy for I am Holy saith the LORD. ( you luke warm people will get spit out of God’s mouth. Remember you have been warned. May the Lord have mercy on all of you.

The ”—-” is NOT fooling anyone. By reading the letter, it is obvious the author is an AOL user. Not that there is anything really wrong with using AOL, but I could definitely see him thinking that the BLOOD OF AOL is against him. Plus, (like the AOL commercial says), “It’s so easy, even my dad can use it!” And this guy will believe anything.
Enjoy the site. Don’t get too pissed off. For all we know, the author of the site could be the most religious, devout Christian in this world or heaven. And, please remember not to judge our Brothers… or you could end up being the one being laughed at… on some small website in Cyberspace… which is ran by a Jew.
